Apple’s New Cartoon Ads Spread a Little Holiday Joy
By Chris Maxcer
Apple has created a couple of new animated “Hello, I’m a Mac, and I’m a PC” ads for the holidays. The two new videos are available on Apple’s web site, of course, though we’re sure they’re on real television, too, but hey, we’re still watching DVR-saved shows from before the Obama election. Talk about some startling commercial breaks.
Anyway, back to “happy holidays” from Apple. The first ad features the animated PC enjoying the freedoms of animation, as well as a talking bunny, and the second ad features a Christmas tree and a little PC humor.
Overall, there’s nothing groundbreaking here, but they are delightful to watch. At least twice.
No, what’s really surprising is that Apple’s been doing these ads since 2006, and has more than three dozen, all of which are available online.
And for your seasonal viewing pleasure, here’s the holiday episodes:
- “Gift Exchange”, 2006
- “Goodwill”, 2006
- “Santa Claus”, 2007
- “I Can Do Anything”, 2008
- “Tree Trimming”, 2008
